Presentation of AGEO in the Canary Islands
On the 27th of January, the Government of the Canary Islands will host a day for disseminating the AGEO Interreg project in the islands organised by the Spanish partners, IGME, University of La Laguna and La Palma Research Centre.
The main objective is to make sure the relevant authorities and stakeholders of the region and to present the pilots for Spain.
Gran Canaria, Tenerife and El Hierro have been chosen as pilot locations for the implementation of a Citizen Observatory of landslide risks. The goal is to reach out to local communities and to actively participate in the preparation and monitoring of this type of risk, and to incorporate local capacities into risk management systems.
Taking into account the importance of this project for collaboration between civil society and local authorities in building capacities related to threats of natural disasters and promoting local use of innovative products and Earth observation services we send you this invitation and request that it be transferred to the technicians you deem appropriate.
